In the Midst of Depression, We Are Surrounded by Mania

It's 2009; where is my 4 day work week?

We've been gypped Our 4 day work week has not arrived on schedule. I thought that was supposed to be one of the beautiful things progress would bring. Given the appalling unemployment numbers, maybe it is time for our allegedly progressive ruling party to consider this one. Below are some of the advantages of shortening the work week.

1. We the proles will have more time to pursue the meaning of life.
2. Our days on the job will be more productive.
3. Companies will need to hire more people, forcing down unemployment and forcing up the price of labor.
4. We can skip getting the Mondays.

It's a win-win situation. It's doubtful that the pseudo-progressives in power in the US will even want such a thing. Let's face it, change isn't really coming. Meet the new boss, worse than the old one, etc.

Maybe we can start a movement though.

Peace out.
